Project: Outdoor Chicken Coop Repairs
What We Did:

Repaired holes in the fencing to help keep predators out.

Installed a 4-foot welded-wire fence using T-posts, leaving the top portion flexible so it bends outward and helps prevent groundhogs from climbing over.

Installed hardware cloth extending 2 feet outward from the fence to help prevent predators from digging underneath.

Cleaned and painted the outdoor chicken run area.

Replaced the old roof panels to keep the chickens dry and protected from the weather.

Built new nesting boxes for egg-laying.

Student and Flock Impact

Happy Hens: Our chickens now have a safer, cleaner, and more comfortable home.

Student Learning: Students are learning how to properly feed the chickens and maintain and clean the chicken coop.

Science Lessons: Classes can now regularly study animal care, egg production, and other hands-on science concepts.
These improvements will greatly enhance student safety while encouraging teachers to make greater use of our garden and outdoor classroom areas. Your generosity has directly supported hands-on learning and created a better environment for both our students and our school flock.
