I am writing to express my sincerest gratitude for your generous grant to the GW Making the Grade Program. Moving forward the program name has been changed to the “Empowering Minds Initiative”. Your contribution to our cause has made a significant impact and has enabled us to further our mission in Academic & Behavioral Improvement. On behalf of the entire George Washington family and the individuals we serve, I extend our heartfelt thanks for your support.
Your belief in our project and your willingness to invest in our vision has provided us with the resources needed to make a real difference in the lives of our students. With your help, we have been able to increase academic motivation, and reduce negative behavior among our student body. Rest assured that we will be diligent in utilizing every dollar responsibly and efficiently to fulfill our shared vision.
The impact of your grant extends far beyond the financial aspect. Your vote of confidence in our work motivates us to continue striving for excellence in our initiatives. Your support has also inspired others to rally behind our cause, creating a ripple effect of positive change within our community, so much so that we have solicited a partner who will be awarding a senior with a car each year under the Empowering Minds Initiative.

Making the Grade Program
June, 2022
Please find attached the West Indy Grant report for the Making the Grade Program here at GWHS. This year was a huge success with the program as several students increased their GPA’s to well above our expectations. We had 60 first semester nominations (9th & 10th grade). We only received 15 nominations for the second semester nominations (11th & 12th grades), so every student was awarded a prize, and we had 10 senior life skills students nominated as well. We had one student who increased their GPA significantly by ending the semester with all A’s and B’s, raising their GPA from a 1.8 to over a 3.0. Thank you so much for your support with this program, as it really motivates the students to compete for higher academic success. Below the criteria’s are listed for students to be nominated by teachers. Also we were able to provide a senior with a new laptop, with touch screen. Thank you again for you generous support, and continued dedication to George Washington High School. Without your generous donations each year this program would not be as successful as it is.
